If you are considering either Gen Con or Origins, and don’t know which to start with, the answer is Origins.Â
Origins Game Fair is a big game con with lots of options for game play, vendors to check out in the Exhibit Hall, seminars and panels on industry topics, and reduced badge prices for families on Sunday.
Carolina Game Tables had three tables in the Mayfair Games play area, so people could try out the latest games and one of our tables at the same time. Mayfair used the Dining Game Table shown here in Cherry and Forest Green fabric to demo one of their upcoming releases, Costa Rica.
The Kitchen Game Table, shown here in Elm and Burgundy fabric, demonstrated Mayfair Games’Â Â Kennerspiel des Jahres Award-winning game, Isle of Skye! That table was hopping, indeed.
Here’s a photo of Isle of Skye on the other Kitchen Game Table (Elm finish and Forest Green fabric, this was actually taken at PAX East 2016).
We also had Coffee Game Tables and a Dining Game Table in our booth with Studio 2 Publishing and a Coffee table in their demo booth next to ours. We displayed Costa Rica, Isle of Skye, and the popular The Downfall of Pompeii from Mayfair on our tables. That’s Clint in the black and white bowler shirt. He’s the brains of Carolina Game Tables. 🙂
The Coffee Game Table for Studio 2 ran demo games of Hollow Earth Expedition and Savage Worlds, among other games. We kept the top on to show how it looks all closed up. The finish on this one is Sagamore Hill.
Grogheads.com reviewed our tables at Origins and posted a slideshow of images  here. They took some fantastic photos–please check them out!
Origins is a relaxed way to have the “big game con” experience and have a great time. “Pick Up” demos for games ran all over the immense Game Play Area and even in the Exhibit Hall, and more games were listed in the hefty phone-book sized program and played all over the convention center.
Thank you to all who signed up for our e-newsletter, grabbed a bookmark or Spec Sheet (here’s one you can download), or just stopped by to wish us well and daydream a bit. Hope to see more of you there next year!
